While most people prefer HUGE and MIRACULOUS progress, Aesop's turtle had it right: Slow and steady wins the race. Bursts of speed followed up by lags with no forward movement don't get us nearly as far as simple actions, consistently made, over time. These simple actions added together are the "compound" effect. Added together they create FAR more progress and momentum than infrequent bursts of speed.
